The Ranch-Razorblades 2012

"The Ranch—Razorblades 2012" — 20x30 acrylic on canvas, and is of a surf break called Razor Blades in the Hollister Ranch, located 2.8 miles from Gaviota Pier west of Santa Barbara. I started 7-22-25 and finished 11-18-25, taking 250 hours to complete. From a photo shot from my boat in February of 2012, we had stopped to watch the waves after a day of surfing. The surf break's name comes from the type of rock strata on the point's shoreline. There's a earthquake fault that runs out to sea through the surf zone and was probably instrumental in the creation of the canyon and surf break.
